On Thursday 17th of May, Berlin played host to the 11th forum hosted by the European Technology Chamber (EUTECC). Berlin is the capital as well as the largest city in Germany. The economy in Berlin is especially based on high-tech firms and on the service sector.
Hotel Adlon Kempinski
The forum was held at Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin. The legendary Hotel Adlon Kempinski is one of the most famous hotels in Europe and is located in the city center of Berlin, directly next to the Brandenburg Gate. The 11th EUTECC Forum was fully booked with more than 60 participants, including clusters, think tanks, associations and technology leaders from across Europe as well as high rank Politicians.
Networking on the event
The event saw Dr. Walter Döring, former Minister of Economics of the State of Baden-Württemberg, to join the event as a distinguished guest and speaker. Dr. Döring is also a managing partner of the Academy of German World Market Leader and provided the audience with a key note address.

In succession, Mr. Florian von Tucher, Chairman of EUTECC, gave a speech on the unique opportunities within the Chinese market, but also on challenges European companies are facing when entering China. Moreover, the audience got an understanding how EUTECC and its tools help European companies and technology leaders to enter China. EUTECC and its tools were further introduced by Mr. Stefan Stempian as well as Dr. Daniel Maier.

Ms. Sierra Wang, Chairwoman of HuanDe Group, gave another speech on the huge chances in the Chinese market, also focusing on governmental aspects and on the opportunities within the HD China EU Future City (HD CEFC) . It was perceived as a unique chance to land in HD CEFC – the pilot project for the EU China Sustainable Urbanization Partnerships.

The event was rounded off by Ms. Frances Yang, Chief Representative of the Economic and Trade Office of Guangdong Province in Germany. Ms Yang gave some closing remarks and also spoke about the opportunities in the growing Chinese market and its provinces.

In general, the participants got deeper insights how EUTECC supports European high-tech companies to become successful in emerging markets and expand their operations in the international context. Old and new friends at the forum all agreed that EUTECC’s tools and especially the HD CEFC is unique positioned to support European companies on their way to China.
